Will this become the new Zapruder film?!

Frame 325.... Back and to the left...

Everybody's analyzing the Oscar footage like it was JFK... Where's the magic bullet turning Smith from laughing to berserk?

And you know what? I'm one of them! :-)

reply

I sure Hope not, the Zapruder took like 7 years to become public. But yeah, I think everyone wants to see what happened there.

The fact that this incident has its own Wikipedia page, makes me think that it has really taken on a mind of its own so to speak:

Quoting from this article:

"On March 31, additional smartphone footage of the incident was published which appeared to show the incident through an audience member's angle at the Smiths' table. The footage seems to show the reaction of Pinkett Smith during and after the joke made by Rock, and shows Pinkett Smith unamused and rolling her eyes during the joke and then seeming to laugh when Rock comments both "Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me" and "That was a ... greatest night in the history of television.""

It already HAS become the Grassy Knoll! Wow, dude.... wow!

Sad to see that Smith just gave his half-assed apology ("see what you made me do!") on social media and didn't reach out to Rock personally.

First of all, it's completely unimportant. People go from zero to 100 level rage in a flash all the time. Nothing to see - move on. Further, there is no chance Will Smith intentionally grenaded his career and showed the whole world what a coward and an asshole he really is - move on.

Besides, what possible motivation would there be for the Academy to release all 20 camera angles?? Anyone with a brain knows this wasn't a staged attack. This incident, despite the buzz it gave the broadcast, is a complete embarrassment to the Academy that happened live in front of the civilized world. The very best thing for the Academy is for this to die down as soon as possible. They will not add more fuel to the inferno by releasing even more video. If Rock pressed charges, then every recorded second of the video would be made public.

That is one magic loogie.

My guess would be "no". Of all the recent odd events that have occurred in this century this one ranks pretty low on the totem pole in terms of importance or level of mystery. The Elisa Lam elevator is way more interesting than this.

reply

The elevator video reminds me of the tampered footage of Kendrick Johnson's final day at high school.
