Could Alicia Silverstone possibly be autistic?
I bring this up because people like that are generally characterized in lacking in a certain degree of self-awareness. In Alicia’s case, she doesn’t apparently understand at all why people would find her parenting techniques to be odd. And Alicia in interviews seems to often not understand just how weird and flaky she comes across. Like she was being interviewed by Stephen Colbert and Alicia brought up that her son once during a screening of “Clueless”, tongue kissed her. She also while speaking to Oprah Winfrey talked about her toilet routine through her vegan diet. It could also lend some credence to what could be considered “quirks” (such as her voice and her facial expressions) in Alicia’s acting style and why she isn’t known to be very sociable or out going within the Hollywood “celebutante” scene.
Alicia Silverstone strikes me as somebody who when you get right down to it and to be brutally frank, had kiddie/teen basic level of acting ability…and never really bothered to train to get better. This may be partially why Alicia had so much trouble transitioning into adult roles because of her limited acting skills.
Alicia recently appeared on this show that has since been cancelled called “American Woman”. Some of the reviews that I’ve come across pointed out how on the show, Alicia always had this over-exaggerated dramatic way of acting. Think of it as poor person trying to imitate a rich person (by over-enunciating her words) after they took the classes on how to speak with a Mid Atlantic accent and elocution. Basically, you would wish that her delivery seemed more natural and not so stilted.
