No longer directing the Wild Bunch remake

He dropped out or did the Studio drop him out?It was announced that he is directing the Wild Bunch remake 4 freaking years ago then Covid came along and everything halted but what happened did he get bored waiting for the movie to start shooting?Or did the studio(WB I think) saw him saluting Trump at the MMA event and dropped him off?
Mel Gibson not getting decent budgets to direct huge epics is a crime against Cinema and Human Civilization in general

Mel Gibson was slated to direct both this and a Viking epic called Berserker that he had also written, as of 2022 he has withdrawn from both projects in order to concentrate on his sequel to The Passion of the Christ

Yep. Last I read it was full steam ahead on the Jesus movie and Lethal Weapon 5 which he's also directing. Probably just didn't have time for a western too.

IMDB says he is currently directing The Resurrection. That should cure all his money problems. Apparently he has been making all those crap movies to fund it…
