Anyone else feel she's kind of arrogant?

I know she donates so much money and helps a lot of causes and all that, but just in like
Videos with interviews, conventions, and things she comes off as very distant and arrogant somehow, like she's being bothered by hearing someone talk or having to talk herself. Some might say she's opinionated or whatever but that's not the same thing. In her early days she was unaffected and seemed genuinely kind and open.

And I'm not saying this based off of some posts on her board already. She did a small thing where she met up with Kyle Richards recently in a video and she just seemed so disinterested and cold. Like she couldn't share that moment of reminisce with warmth, it's small things like that.

She comes off very smug, there's no denying that. I've watched earlier interviews of her career and she's always been headstrong and outspoken. DON'T YOU DARE INTERRUPT HER. And it has only gotten worse as she's gotten older. And she also thinks she's very funny. Being funny isn't about throwing F bombs and saying you've been selling yoghurt for six years that makes you *beep* Her shtick is getting really tiresome. I don't know what she was on when she was introducing the cast but I was like Jamie, like you said, you're 56 the rest of the cast are not... so don't compete with them in terms of zaniness or whatever. Oh and another thing. NOW she denies never appreciating her horror fanbase because that's what launched her career. But she has spend so much time distancing herself from it. But now she's all like "I AM HALLOWEEN" and "I AM LAURIE STRODE. And now this new show Scream Queens. Two things. Money talks and relevance. Oh Ryan Murphy wants me in his next project? Where do I sign? If she really thinks this role will reinvigorate her career in the likes of Jessica Lange... well she's in for a big disappointment. Scream Queens is CAMPY. She won't get nominated for anything prestigious. She should have done a meaty guest starring role on American Horror Story. Oh but oops almost forgot she HATES horror. She's in it for the comedy she says.

Long story short. The clips of interviews with her at Comic Con she comes off patronazing. Like she looks down on you. The whole extravaganza of of it all she couldn't be bothered. But she needs to promote the show that's part of the game. I hate how she acted at the end of this interview

"In better lighting". She thinks she's so sarcastic and witty. No you're being condescending.

reply

That is so true. She was putting down horror movies immensely and calling them evil, that they should not be watched...etc...

Now she is promoting them like a cheerleader. Two-Faced.

Then they all went and made her new Halloween movie the Top Grossing Slasher of All Time. i hate this world

Her characters are more likable than her real life self, that goes for probably the majority of actors though IMO.

Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours

LMAO! Notice the interviewer's awkward, apologetic almost, laugh as a reaction to Jamie Lee's "in better lighting" line. I kinda felt bad for the poor girl.

I like Jamie Lee as an actress and I've enjoyed a bunch of her films, but she never struck me as pleasant IRL.

Where does fantasy end and reality begin?

Trump should have her investigated.

I really hate how people over analyze things like a simple, innocent interview.

Curtis simply struck me as being professional, and not this fake, bubble gummy, airhead celebrity style that every other actor seems to adopt. She was just answering the interviewer's questions in a straightforward manner. To me, she seems like a cool person, and you're just a snobby tabloid reader.

Everything about ComicCon is patronizing. That's why it exists.

She seems to be one of those that if you arent well known, she talks down to you and acts bored.

At comicon its not well known interviewers, so she seems to not care much. If it had been someone more famous interviewing she probably would have faked, being more interesting.

""In better lighting". She thinks she's so sarcastic and witty. No you're being condescending."

Huh?? She was almost completely in silhouette. Even the most amateur-ass crews, made up of Jr. High students, can pull off an interview better than that. No wonder she was annoyed at their lack of professionalism, and said as much. Good for her.

You feel she was trying to be "Sarcastic and witty"? What a complete dunce of the worst kind. The sheeple have a way on turning on the celebrities whom they normally worship, when they don't act insincerely humble.

I don't even like this woman, but she gained a bit of respect after seeing that clip. I hope I get to see even more "patronazing" (sic) from her, as long as it's directed at incompetent, ignorant, or downright stupid people. I applaud her honesty and lack of ass-kissing.

But of course, it does make sense that you'd think the things you mentioned. Predictable much?

No one gets more offended when seeing someone acting in a condescending way....then those who have earned condescension. Think about it. Watch for it. It aint rocket science, y'all. Call a group of women "sluts", and who gets most offended? The sluts, of course. Umm.....duh.

Basic awareness incompetence, yet again. Why is this so common?

Yesss I love her! She is hilarious in the new show Scream Queens.

I haven't seen any of the interviews mentioned here. But there was one comment that she made which always rubbed me the wrong way. Can't believe I still remember it.

Years ago she appeared with her mother Janet Leigh on The Phil Donahue Show. She seemed like a pleasant enough person. But during the Q and A from the audience, one woman started out by addressing her as "Miss Curtis".

Jamie Lee "corrected" her with a smug smile and said, "Mrs. Guest".

The audience laughed and she laughed. Okay, we get it. We know who you are married to. But was it necessary to embarrass a fan and make an a@@ out of her by saying that? If you wanted to be addressed as Mrs. Guest, then you should have instructed Phil Donahue to introduce you as Jamie Lee Guest.

It just struck me as a bit rude and patronizing to do that.
