He's not wrong. Clooney himself and his real life persona are far more popular than his film career. He's had a decent film here and there but his name alone doesn't exactly inspire people to run to the theater. He's a decent actor but i wouldn't say movie star.

reply

Agreed.

Name the last big movie he was in? I can't.

I don't usually agree with Tarantino, but he is right. Clooney has been in a series of unremarkable what used to be TV movies of the week. They are horrible, or just bearable, and they are pushed by the media because of Clooney's PR and political connections. Since I found out Clooney's wife actually works for Hamas, or the Hamas funding part of the UN, UNRWA the guy is on my no-watch list.

To my recollection only Up In The Air was new and fresh, but still was a small movie.

I would not watch a Clooney movie at this point if you paid me.

Maybe Clooney should try and sign up for JURASSIC WORLD IV with Scarlett Johansen. Then he'll most likely have a hit

This whole "Claps back" saying clearly came about during the last 4 years because I sure never heard this expression prior to 2020

Tarantino is wrong. Of course Clooney is a movie star, he's just not a big box office star. George Clooney is a rich and famous actor who has starred in many movies. A movie star is a famous actor who lands very lucrative leading roles in a lot of mainstream movies. That is George Clooney's movie career and he has a moderate amount of fans who've paid to watch his movies, but for some reason, he just hasn't been much of a big box office draw. That said, it's foolish to think that George Clooney is not a movie star.

reply

Exactly. Angelina Jolie is the same. I'm sure Brad must have one hell of an agent as he gets offered a lot of interesting scripts despite being a terrible actor. At least George can act.
