I understand she didn't want to be a huge star, so she took on smaller, more passionate projects after Scream 3. However, these days, she's not doing anything interesting. Thankless roles in middle-of-the-road projects and a glorified cameo in Scream 5.
shareYeah quite a shame. She did some great work in the late 90s but isn't very active as an actress and looking at her credits not much of the stuff she does appear in appeals to me.
shareYes, I was surprised she dropped out of Scream VI. I know it was a dispute over pay, but she's not exactly overwhelmed with work.
shareDespite her feelings about celebrity and feminist leanings, she did appear in some unpretentious, very straight male oriented magazines circa 1997-2004 (you probably wouldn't see a legit actress doing that now - I'm not sure those magazines are still around anyway?). Also, her Instagram post about returning to "Scream" reads like Spyglass typed it up themselves.
I'm not judging, I just find all this interesting.
