It's great news. He's a good director and will be something theatrical and fresh to it. I think he'll be a great Poirot. I never liked Suchet much and though I'm a devoted Christie fan, I haven't watched many of his episodes because he never impressed me. I thought he lacked charisma and was boring. So I'm excited about this!

Yea this is great news, I disagree that Suchet lacked Charisma to Poirot......I thought he became the role and had a quirky way of asking/finding out things

I do agree Branagh is a really good Director and also a good actor

Where you from?

reply

This is the guy who gave us "Dr. Frankenstein rents an apartment", so I'm thinking it will be all of the passengers buying their tickets and finalizing their travel details.

Well with that response you will see this lol

Has there been any news of this one lately? If he will be in the new Nolan film that starts filminig in May I can not see him doing Murder on the Orient Express anytime soon.

reply

Not heard anything but If do I will post it, As for the new Nolan film you mean Dunkirk - It is in Pre-production at the mo so probably start filming in middle of the summer

A shame. The David Suchet version can't possibly be improved on. It's the quintessential MOTOE, and Suchet the consummate Poirot.

Branagh has a huge ego, and no doubt thinks he can improve on anything. He's wrong.
