I think many people missed the point of her Oscar speech...
Lot's of people are complaining about her speech for equal pay between men and women, by saying that she makes a TON of money as a Hollywood actress and should therefore not have a say in it. But it seems that you people missed the point about Patricia Arquette's speech. Yes, she might make more money than you if you have a "regular" job. But the point and the truth is that the gender wage gap does indeed exist. That is, when it comes to men and women working the SAME job. So again, she may make more money than most other people, BUT men working in the film industry as actors are making more money than Arquette is. Even if they star in the same amount of films per year. Male doctors still make more than female doctors, male teachers make more than female ones, male librarians make more than females, and so on and so on. THAT was the true point of the speech. It's the issue that men are still making way more money than women for doing the EXACT SAME things, and that is what is truly not fair. And that is what feminist people want to see change. We want BOTH men and women to be equal. That is the point of feminism.
