Back in the 90's, her co-star David Duchovny got to host "Saturday Night Live" twice, but she never hosted "Saturday Night Live". Why? What gives? She was just as famous as he was, she was a household name, she and her co-star were both 90's pop culture icons.

shareThere are plenty of legitimate reasons why she didn't host. Perhaps she was offered but simply wasn't interested. It seems possible to me because she seems like a shy, low key person.
The last thing these people would do is forgo making money just to prove some chauvinistic point. These people are businesspeople who think of money first, second, and last.
Not everything can be attributed to bigotry, sexism, racism, whatever-ism, etc. Eventually common sense and reality take precedence.
Hope she'll never host it. SNL is painfully unfunny, always has been.
Sure it's a huge exposure and great for promoting sh!t, but the quality is so low.
I would love her to work with Louie CK though; I reckon they could do great things together.

shareShe's incredibly private and doesn't act to be a household name. She's an actress because she loves it. I don't picture her wanting to do SNL.
shareShe might not have been asked to host for the reason you suggest and she might have chosen not to host for her own reasons. We can't really know unless someone asks, and that probably isn't the first question on journalists' lists. You get the feeling she'd answer honestly.
