Documentary fully dismantles the Woody Allen myth

A nauseating load of total crap. Police detectives, psychologists, and child welfare workers conducted exhaustive investigations and concluded that there was no circumstantial, psychological, or physical evidence that the child had been molested or abused in any way, but had most likely been brainwashed by her mother. "The Woody Allen myth" is the one that is mindlessly accepted by the ignorant public that he molested a child. Using the fact that he made a movie about a middle-aged man in a relationship with a teenage girl as some kind of evidence is like accusing Martin Scorsese of being a gangster. And witnesses? A pro-Allen documentary could be made with just as many, and probably more, who could testify on his behalf. The Woody Allen Persecution Industry has flourished in the last several years, and there will probably be no end to the procession of opportunists piling on to grab their fifteen minutes as long as there is a vast audience of the uninformed and gullible to eat it up. HBO should finance a companion documentary about Mia Farrow, her psychosis, and her bizarre adoption house of horrors. Now that would be entertaining, not to mention solidly rooted in verifiable reality.

LOL, hilarious ... true, and hilarious too. Nailed it.

To be fair, or at least informative, Woody did have two previous relationship for 17 year old young ladies I'll call them. Neither of them have any complaints and say it was a big part of their lives that they would not change. And the thing with Soon-Yi, I can see how with the way Mia spun this for the media and the court for public sympathy, and the Soon-Yi thing it was easy to nudge people into framing Woody as a very bad guy - especially when you ignore absolutely everything else.

This BS has gone on too long. Three decades and the bile and vitriol is still hot and fresh and bubbling over.

Add to that the fact that Woody & Soon-Yi have been married all this time, and by all accounts quite happily so. It's not impossible that couples of disparate ages can genuinely fall in love & remain in love over years & decades, after all.

For me, Moses' adult testimony is especially convincing. I'm not really surprised that he became a therapist & marriage counselor, given his own childhood. He clearly wanted to understand the dynamics of adult relationships from an adult perspective, so very different & more complex than the limited understanding of a child. And he seems to have established a warm adult relationship with Woody & Soon-Yi.

His own daughter being far more credible than average alleged victim & his own certified creepy grooming behavior towards Mia's other daughter is basically an open record of Allen's inappropriate sexual grooming tendencies towards young girls who had called him dad.

This simplification of circumstances and sexual behavior shows only the ignorance of your assertion, not the guilt of Allen.

The issue is the cognitive dissonance and & questionable moral fortitude of those who believe Woody Allen's behavior towards his and Mia Farrow's children, including grooming & marrying one was perfectly acceptable conduct & not at all inappropriate.

The so called "grooming" is debatable, but not the marriage, that's true. Similar to the abuse by Mia towards her 14 (!) children, including her son Ronan, who was lied to about his biological father for years. That is also not debatable, but true. Does Mia's behavior towards her children set Woody free of guilt? No. Does his marriage to his wife of three decades now proof his guilt? Also no.

I wonder how much Mia paid NYP for that unwaveringly anti-Woody article? LOL

My thing is this. If they knew exactly when this happens , which the documentary makes seem like as soon as Mia got home she basically knew something was up. Where are the police? Trip to the hospital for an examination? Why is Mia just taking random videos in the following days and not getting physical evidence be collected? Am I missing something?

reply

Not something .... everything.

If Mia thought Dylan was in danger, or that Woody was the danger, why would she ever leave? But it doesn't matter because nothing happened. She left 3 adults in charge telling them to keep eyes on Woody at all time. Moses Farrow says Woody was in the main house. They claim Woody was out of sight for 20 minutes and he whisked Dylan up to an attic that Moses said was an actual crawlspace with spider-webs and exposed nails without space to set up a train, or an outlet to plug it into.
