Why hasn't he fallen from grace?

Due to his sexual assault allegations. Why hasn't the Weinstein effect hit him yet?

reply

Unlike Weinstein or Kevin Spacey Allen doesn't have a string of accusations just one, when dealing with rape your in a situation where your unable to prove anything.

If you ever had an encounter with Allen I'd advice you to speak up because those Hollywood people are always gonna try to buy themselves out of trouble.

reply

For several reasons.

1. There has only been one (1) allegation in a lifetime of 80+ years. Totally unlike Weinstein, Cosby and the likes.

2. That one allegation happened at the most suspect of moments for a false allegation: during an ugly divorce and the onset of a bitter custody battle. Ask your nearest family lawyer about false allegations toward men who are despised by their angry ex-wives.

3. That one allegation was thoroughly investigated, by multiple, independent expert parties (Yale-New Haven Hospital, Child Abuse Dept. in Connecticut; New York State Child Welfare Dept. in NY). Both concluded that the abuse did NOT take place. Indications were found that the child had been 'coached' into telling the abusive narrative.

4. Allen has steadfastly denied. The alleged victim, then 7 years old, has changed her testimony several times.

5. Other than in the Weinstein and Cosby cases, there is a long string of defenders of Woody Allen against what they feel is a false allegation.

6. The adopted son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, Moses Farrow, has recently spoken out against his mother. Already after the incident, Moses reportedly told the nanny that he felt the accusation was made up (it is in the nanny's 1993 testimony), even though at the time he was very troubled by the fact that Woody had started a relationship with his (then adult) sister Soon-Yi Previn. Today, Moses defends Woody without reservation. You can read his revealing testimony here:

7. The Farrows (Mia, Dylan, Ronan) seem to be jumping the #MeToo bandwagon in order to get attention for their unwarranted allegation. Instead of going to court and charging Allen, what would be the honest thing to do, they play the newspapers and television in order to break Allen's career in a trial-by-media. In doing so, they typically NEVER go into factual arguments against their position. They flat out deny everything, which makes them unsympathetic to a part of the audience.

reply

Excellent presentation of the facts to refute the Salem-like masses and their inability to figure this out on their own.

reply

And also both sides are unable to do or prove anything.

The Farrows may have tried going to court but with Allen being a film legend has the power to settle himself of of court.

Allen does seem to like underage girls like marrying his adopted daughter.

reply

It's really depressing reading that.

It's the accusation the one that must prove. Always.

reply

By catching them in the act, admitting it by mistake or shit load of accusers coming forward.

reply

The "how" is secondary. What matters is that it's the accuser the one that must prove beyond a reasonable doubt. And it's really sad to see how that has to be reminded so often nowadays.

reply

Proving you were raped is tough for one the bruises would be healed over time and semen washed away.

reply

You are talking out of your a$$. This allegation has got nothing to do with rape, bruises or semen.

In earlier versions of the 'story', Dylan said she remembered that Allen put his finger inside her vagina. In the more recent versions, she has changed her story to merely 'touching' - because that is harder to (dis)prove.

In earlier versions of the story, to be precise from 1992 to 2014 there was no 'train set' in the attic. Suddenly in 2014 the 'train set' miraculously appeared. For 22 years Dylan must have 'forgotten' to include it into her narrative. And you know what? Now she claims it made a HUGE impact on her, "so that to this day, I have not been able to look at toy trains".

And some people find that 'credible'. It is sad.

Fair enough.

Of course, I suppose you'll be coherent, and since there's no way you can prove that you never raped a woman, you should go to the Police RIGHT NOW and ask to be jailed.

Next comment you post, I expect you to comment from jail... if you're coherent, of course.

Hahahaha!

1. The Farrows can go to court any day. They could have done it in the past 26 years. They can still do it today, tomorrow, the day after. But they didn't, and they won't. Ask yourself why.

2. If your argument would be true that movie celebrities can bend the law, then why didn't Mia Farrow bend the law? She had the money, the power, the lawyer (the same as O.J. Simpon would have, a few years later). The truth is: movie celebrities are rarely above the law. That's just a poor excuse for a juridical outcome that does not suit you.

3. Soon-Yi Previn is NOT Allen's adopted daughter

4. Soon-Yi Previn was neither 'underage' when she got into a relationship with Woody Allen (she was 21), nor when she married him (at 26).

Nice try. Get your facts straight next time.

He did for awhile. Woody's story was that he always kept working, but he didn't have hits. I'm sure the diehards stayed with him, but it wasn't until Midnight in Paris or whatever that derivative movie was that he was given recognition...although his presentation at the Oscars after 9/11 semi-rehabilitated him with those of the unintelligencia -- those who don't necessarily get his movies and aren't afraid to admit it.

And for that matter, why hasn't Meryl Streep been hit for calling Weinstein her "god," or Oprah for all those pics of her introducing young hopefuls to Weinstein, as though someone who got around as much as she did didn't know she was essentially pimping for the creep?

In politics and in Hollywood, there are all too many satyrs and pedos preying on the young and trusting, or the stupid and hopeful. If Ronan wants to really make a name for himself he could start in his mother and father's backyard. And by father, I mean Frank Sinatra, who he very closely resembles, and with whom Mia bragged that she cheated on Woody.

reply

one allegation that was screwy as hell. mia farrow did that whole thing to extort child support payments from woody for ronan farrow who was not even his kid. mia farrow will stop at nothing.

reply

Mia is clearly a basket case who can't be trusted.

reply

That really doesn't explain it at all. Many of these women's accusations are obvious cynical exploits, but we're still told to believe all women.

But he did fall from grace, didn’t he?!

I mean his last movie will not be released (I don’t know if something changed in the meantime because now I see on Google a release date in 2019), the actors who played in said movie are apologizing and donating money to charities.

I don’t think he will do another movie in his lifetime.

Also other actors from his past movies are apologizing for working with him, which I find hypocritical. The scandal about him molesting his daughter was well known since the beginning, it was so publicised back in the day that I even remember watching some (probably Lifetime) movie when I was a kid about Soon-Yi and Woody relationship scandal, and sexuall abuse of his daughter. So it has been known for more than 25 years. And Woody usually makes one movie a year, that is like 25 movies since the allegations that actors worked with him, and now they are acting like they only just found out about it, and apologize for working with him because they are scared of the #metoo and public backlash.

Only few stick behind him, Diane Keaton for one because she is close too him. And Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz don’t want to jump on the bandwagon and apologize, they have to me the most realistic reasoning, they say that he was never convicted for anything, and it was not proven at court, so until that happens, if Farrows go to court and prove that it really did happen only then they will cut their association with Woody.

reply

So far not, recently someone said she had a relationship with him when she was 16 and he was 41. People who've been accused of assault or worse deny those allocations and have not been found guilty.

Why he's not fallen from grace I think has a lot to do with denial, there are dozens around him complicit with him or simply unable to prove him guilty of anything.

The allocations and him liking underage girls kinda ruins his legacy.
