I just watched Tortilla Soup, and before I rip her a new one, can someone please answer if she's always been out about her Latin roots?

Latin and Mestizo are two different things. Latin means you come from Latin America. You could be fair like Cameron Diaz or dark like Zoe Salanda. Mestizo are a group of people who are mixed with Native and European heritage.
