Once an actress is pigeon-holed as a sex symbol, she is not generally given the most complex of roles to play.
I did see her in a TV movie decades ago, 1987, called Right to Die, in which her character is diagnosed with the horrible ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease. As I recall, she gave a very stirring performance, brilliantly capturing the misery of having all her physical abilities stolen away by her disease, reduced to communicating with only facial muscles, no voice left. That's acting.
