not a big fan of hers

same for elizabeth taylor

reply

I've seen some good Elizabeth Taylor movies but I don't have a memory of watching Sofia in a movie. I'm sure that I just missed them somehow.

She missed out on making a movie with Bruce Lee because he died. Had he lived, she would be more memorable.

reply

That would have been worth watching!

In Bey Logan's Bruce Lee book ("Bruce Lee and I"), he hinted that one of Bruce's next movies was going to be a Kung Fu Western: "At the time of his death, Bruce Lee was considering an offer from producer Carlo Ponti, husband of international superstar Sophia Loren. Ponti had to content himself with Lo Lieh, whom he cast opposite Spaghetti Western staple Lee Van Clief in The Stranger and the Gunfighter."

Malisa Longo, who was in Bruce's The Way of the Dragon, relayed in an Italian interview that he told her about coming back to Italy to do a movie with her. I get the impression that, had he lived, Malisa would have played the role that Femi Benussi played whereas Sophia would have been the main leading lady instead of Patty Shepard.

reply

Lesser known now days but she was VERY popular from the 50s through the 70s.

With regard to Sophia, if you haven’t seen Two Women (La Ciociara) where have you been? She got the Oscar for it.
