What do you think of this song??? Particularly interested in youthful opinions....

Certainly everyone is welcome, I appreciate all takes.

On this one, really interested in the thoughts of twenty somethings, even teenagers.

As to the why?

Well, I woke up today with this track playing in my head. After getting cafe au lait going - I listened to it. It sounds great to me.

It's a 50 something track, I'm a 50 something person.

So, one is curious, how does this track sound to a young person?

Hopefully many will join in.

Here is the track.........

Average. The "drums" are awful and sound empty.

reply

Fair enough.

Thanks for your response.

My favorite Wings songs are With a Little Luck, Silly Love Songs and Maybe I'm Amazed. This is not one I would choose to listen to although it's pleasant enough to have in the background at a place like a restaurant or in the car.

reply

Hhhmmm, interesting.

Yeah I love WaLL, too.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

I think you hit the nail on the head. Wings had several much better songs👍

reply

It's ok, but I wouldn't go out my way to listen to it.

reply

Thanks - I appreciate your reponse.

Apparently I'm the only one that likes it, LOL

reply

I'm bumping this up because I'm about to cut out for the day.

Hoping to get some more responses.......

Thanks in advance and best wishes to all!

I AM 43...SO NOT SO YOUNG....BUT....THIS IS A SOLID SONG....JUST NOT MY STYLE.

reply

Yeah but you've still got a decade on me. I was interested in younger opinions - your take is appreciated.

Seems like the track isn't all that popular.

It sounded great to me. Looks like I'm a party of one, LOL

Ok - thanks for the response.

reply

MY PARTNER IS 60....SHE ADORES WINGS....MY FATHER IS 72 HE ALSO ADORES WINGS....SO...THERE IS THAT.

reply

Well, thanks and this is good to know.

I'm in my 50s and also love Wings. I'm sure your partner would agree - Wings was bigger to us growing up than The Beatles.

So, yeah, us old people, we love Wings.

This is why I was interested in youthful opinions. How does Wings sound to a 24 year old? An 18 year old?, etc. I didn't really get any responses so it looks like I'm not gonna find out, LOL.

reply

I WILL ASK MY DAUGHTER TO WEIGH IN FOR YOU...SHE IS A 17 YEAR OLD MUSIC LOVER.

reply

You know, in all seriousness, I would be very interested to hear what she thinks.

I'm getting responses now in this thread, but it doesn't look like any 20 somethings (or teenagers) have joined in.

So, yeah that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

reply

I MESSAGED HER....SHE IS AT SCHOOL CURRENTLY...SHE POSTS HERE AS thesamoanjoke.....EXPECT HER TO REPLY SOMETIME TODAY😉

reply

Terrific!

Looking forward to it.

I'm old - not Beatles old but punk old. And I've always hated Wings and McCartney solos. They did the "silly love songs" thing. Wasn't interested.

Paul & Linda did do one epic song - "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey". But all the rest was pap.

reply

Ok.

Well, for the sake of conversation.....

"Live and Let Die"?

"Junior's Farm"?

"Let em In"?

Do any of these work for you???

And also, agreed, some of Wings is sappy. I didn't like SLS either.

UA/AH - indeed - it may be their best work.

reply

Nah, Wings is not my style.

But McCartney's music without Lennon makes you realize what both contributed to the Beatles' success. McCartney gave their music the catchy pop edge, while Lennon gave it depth.

reply

Gotcha.

Yeah, true indeed. It really goes for all 4 Beatles. They did their best work together. If you took the entirety of all 4 Beatle solo careers - you could come up with one Beatle level quality record (figure 14 songs). That's about it.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

reply

Old

Like this song, its harmonies & transitions - this is a style he didn't stay with too long. I'd say I'm not the biggest post-Beatle McCartney fan, but the early Wings stuff, I do like.

reply

Sounds good.

Even though you are not young, LOL, I still appreciate the response.

Thanks!
