Best year of the 2010s in film

And your top 10 from that year.

For me it’s 2017. So many innovative and unique movies released in that year. I’m still catching up and the more I see, the more I believe there was something special in the movie waters in 17. Hard to narrow it down to 10 but here goes:

1. A Ghost Story
2. First Reformed
3. God’s Own Country
4. Lady Bird
5. mother!
6. Okja
7. Baby Driver
8. The Killing of a Sacred Deer
9. The Shape of Water
10. The Disaster Artist

Truly it pains me not to mention the other brilliant films from 2017 like Logan, I Tonya, The Beguiled, A Fantastic Woman, Sweet Country etc. etc. I rated multiple 2017 films 8/10 or higher.

I guess the curmudgeons who believe there hasn’t been a decent film released since 1979 need not reply :)
