I've had a dog for 12 years and I can tell you, here in Italy many "dog pensions" where people can bring their dog for a week or two when they go on vacation and cannot take the dog along, have something like this not as a standalone business but as part of the service they provide for their customers, giving people an additional incentive to leave their dogs there during vacations.

My dog liked it there because she was getting lots of attention and care.
First time she was afraid I wouldn't come back, but once she figured out I always come back for her she enjoyed it.
