Is Coca-Cola Messing Around With Its Formula Again?

I recently bought a case of regular Coke in Christmas packaging, and I think it tastes a little different... The can says "Original Taste."

reply

CLASSIC COKE WILDLY FLUCTUATES IN FLAVOUR...I STOPPED DRINKING IT FROM THE CAN AND BOTTLE SOMETIME AGO BASED ON THAT.....CHERRY COKE IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT THOUGH.🤷🏻‍♀️

reply

I doubt it. Do you remember the New Coke fiasco? Coca-Cola does.

reply

Coke got a big boost in sales when they brought back the original formula, though. It ended up not being quite the disaster it's made out to be.

reply

I stopped drinking it because it started to taste too much like liquorice.

So now I drink Pepsi.

reply

I haven't drank soda in so long, mainly because it just makes you thirstier with all the sugar in it. I prefer Lemonade

reply

I GET THOSE PACKETS THAT YOU MIX INTO YOUR WATER BOTTLE....PINK LEMONADE IS MY JAM.

reply

Yeah, I see at Quick Trip they sell those little bottles of Country Time Lemonade you squirt in your bottled water. I just prefer Lemonade over soda as it's more refreshing, HOWEVER, there was a time when I was addicted to DR. PEPPER and drank it all the time

reply

I WAS FAOUSLY THE SLAVE OF CHERRY COKE FOR OVER 35 YEARS.....WATER TURNED INTO PINK LEMONADE AND UNSWEETENED ICED TEA ARE THE DRINKS I REPLACED IT WITH EARLIER THIS YEAR.

reply

Unsweetened ice tea is good

reply

THANK YOU~....MY HOMIES IN THE MOVIE CLUB GIVE ME SHIT FOR IT....BUT IT'S MY JAM.

reply

Maybe they added less diabetes.

reply

Coke is distributed in form of syrup, concentrated with less water in it to save space and weight during transport.
Therefore the taste of Coke depends on what water is added at the destination, what minerals are in that water, etc.
They try to hide the taste of the water under an overload of sugar so that most people will just taste the sugar, but if you have a high sensitivity for taste you can tell the difference when they have used a different water source.

reply

I think it depends how much of it is cut and what with by your dealer..

reply

I should hope not.

I can remember the big mess it caused in the mid 80s.

If one remembers correctly, a new formula was introduced. People didn't like it, so Coca-Cola named the new formula New COke, and reintroduced the old formula, calling it Classic Coke.

Then, I believe, New Coke went into oblivion.

The entire episode was stupid.

reply

IIRC the issue was the sugar - Coke had been using sugar cane but cane was really expensive, so they tried beet sugar...
