Just bought a Christmas tree
I'm probably going to decorate it Tuesday or Wednesday. How about you guys?
shareI'm probably going to decorate it Tuesday or Wednesday. How about you guys?
shareAlready up.
shareOurs are up. We put up two, one in each living room. Both are artificial pre-lit trees. We decided not to go to the tree farm this year as my daughter and niece have been busy with school, art and sport clubs.
One is all white lights and the other is a pastel lighted, frosted one with silver and gold balls.
How do you decorate yours?
Lights, red/silver/gold balls in different sizes, multiple glass ornaments (traditional ones like a trumpet, not the weird modern stuff like hot dogs), a garland and tinsel and a gold tree topper, of course. Ooh, and those little chocolate wreaths during Christmas itself.
shareMy wife and me switched from a real tree to plastic some 15 years ago, but most years we do not set it up anymore, being non religious and without children the tradition has become obsolete.
We have a few relatives living not too far away, we're alternating at whos house all of us meet at xmas and we're setting up the tree in our house only when the meeting is in our place just because the others expect it.
This year it's in our house and we'll decorate it some time next week.
I encourage you to set it up.
The world needs more light, even if its from some lights on a plastic tree : )
There's no shortage of light in the house, even multi color, just not on a tree.
I have a few of the "fiber lamps" that were popular 20 or 30 years ago, for my wife I bought a few "stabilized" roses under glass with blinking LED lights attached and my favorite is a heart shaped glass with red light in it, can't really explain it, something like this, only in heart shape and with red light.

Did mine a while ago. Jus trhe tree though, I don't do all that other stuff like put the Nativity scene underneath the tree.
shareYou don't do any other decorations??
shareAround the house, yes. But when it comes to the tree, I just leave it at the tree. I don't do stuff like this:

I do have a nativity scene, but I don't put it under the tree. Not handy at all.
shareWe put up our Christmas tree right before Thanksgiving. We usually wait until right after Thanksgiving but that's when our son was home and it's most important to me that he can be a part of it.
shareI did it yesterday too. And , like in your case, we will decorate it next Tuesday or Wednesday 👍.
shareI put my tree up on December 1. This is also the date when I begin listening to Christmas music and watching the movies and specials I have in my collection.
Save the holiday season.
My wife put ours up on the day after Thanksgiving.
