Your vote for the Greatest American Actor

It can be anybody ... living or deceased ... from the silent era to yesterday's film.

My pick is George C. Scott ... followed very closely by Morgan Freeman. Each of these gentlemen could/can do anything, comedic or dramatic.

I'd probably say either Marlon Brando or Dustin Hoffman as well. However, I firmly believe that no one ever gave a greater performance on screen than R. Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in "Full Metal Jacket." He had so many memorable lines and moments... just an incredible performance (And he was great in other roles also...he was even in an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants!).

Excellent choice.

Definitely not Morgan Freeman.

Dwight Frye - universal monster movie actor. He created the meme before motion pictures had a score.
