1. The Dark Knight- 1 good performance in an otherwise weak story
2. Fall Guy- it's an action movie with bad action. It's a love story with no real relationship. It's a murder story where 12 people saw the murder. Meh.
3. Avatar- Bad acting in a pretty environment
4. Dune part 2- looks good. Sounds good. Has the wrong leads
5. Hellraiser- it's missing something. I don't know what.
Tombstone - This movie is ok but I don’t get why Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday is so beloved.
Fight Club - I don’t get the hype around this at all.
Matrix - I don’t hate it but way overhyped.

Val as Doc Holiday- I don't get this either. Dennis Quaid was a good Doc Holiday as well.

I'm with you on not particularly liking The Dark Knight. I think that trilogy has the usual diminishing returns: Batman Begins is the best one, The Dark Knight is alright (but massively overstuffed), The Dark Knight Rises is meh.
And I don't love any James Cameron films with the sole exception of The Terminator. Aliens is... OK.
I'm with VinceD on The Matrix. It's... OK. I've never understood the big love for it. But each to their own, eh.
I probably have loads of these, particularly when it comes to pop culture stuff. Because I'm just not a very mainstream kind of chap...
I really hate Back to the Future II, for example. 'Oooh it's one of the best trilogies ever made.' No, it isn't. The first one is great. The other two -- like most sequels -- can be flung into the eternal fire.
Talking of sequels, I don't rate Return of the Jedi at all.

I disagree on Cameron slightly. I like Aliens, the Abyss, Terminator and T2.
I like the Shawshank Redemption. I'm invested in. The stories of Brooks, Andy, and Red. If you don't care for it, that's on par with reviews from when it comes out.

I agree with Interstellar and Fury Road.
Interstellar has a great soundtrack. But it falls apart with the tesseract.
Fury Road was just overhyped.
The thing that really annoys me about Interstellar was that is was praised as being incredibly accurate / realistic yet, even on first viewing, it's clearly full of nonsense.
e.g. Crops failing so the only solution is pump everything into an interstellar space travel plan (say what?!), going down to that planet surface without scanning / noticing it has these giant waves beforehand 😂, being scientists yet having no appreciation there was going to be a time dilation effect!
Just crazy. But my favourite was the massive plot hole which I posted a thread about on the page here - namely, that it makes no sense anyway because the humans obviously survived anyway, given the tesseract, so why did they even bother trying to "save" themselves?
Yep. The causal loop with the tesseract was self defeating.

Interesting, I love Delicatessen it’s one of my favourite movies, but I’ve heard a few people say it’s overrated. One person I follow on Letterboxd who I would have expected to like it reviewed it recently and they hated it.
For me though it’s pretty magical.
