How the fuck did I not do one of the hugest metal bands on this planet yet? Anyways, I love all their albums (even the newest one).

If I hear that depressing song "One" one more time I'll scream. It's the most overplayed and depressing song ever.

Other than that, Metallica was an important alternative rebellion against the vacuous hair metal of the 80's and 90's.

I was in my late teens when the self-titled album was released in 91, it was everywhere and made it into my cd collection too. I wouldn’t say I’m a massive Metallica fan but they’re a great band.

For me though I would prefer to listen to AC/DC if I’m in the hard rock mood.
