Hhhmmm. I guess what I think of as anthems do not qualify (Hey Jude, Stairway to Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody).

Although I put the dictionary definition in my OP as guidance, I think anything that rouses somebody to either feel something or do something could qualify. I especially loved your last one. I think the heart and soul and power she puts in to her singing could make any song she sings an anthem. I remember the first time I heard Piece of my Heart around age 20. It resonated with something I was going through and it stuck with me for a long time. Every time I hear it on the radio I remember that first time I heard it and exactly what I was doing and feeling.
YOu can tell, she's giving it everything she's got.

That's a good one! I just read through the lyrics and it definitely is a call to stand up and show the world what you've got inside. An anthem indeed!
