Gangs in movies

In movies...the gangs are often interracial. When I see gangs in real life...everyone in the gang is usually the same race. Is Hollywood getting this wrong?

Gangs can classified into three primary groups:
1. Jets
2. Sharks
3. Miscellaneous

I don't think you'll find many gangs in real life that look like the one in the Outsiders but I wouldn't have minded running into them.
