Personally, I find most movies to be sub-par and forgettable since streaming started making direct to video flicks.

A best friend is worth keeping it going. A relative stranger, if they started becoming strange, you can just get rid of them.
If it was me, I'd hang in with my BF. Really good friends, long term friendships, they're hard to come by.
