Exactly how and why are some people so careful to not do anything too or even slightly wrong...

... in life and/or ESPECIALLY at work etc, whether minor infraction or major or even moderate offense (and in modern times, more so than say 200 years ago let alone 1000 years ago, such misdemeanours may have been overlooked or worse) etc or even FAIL somewhere and thus succeed in having a continuously good job, family, pay etc all the way till they are old and may pass away from old age?

And let's say we DO fail somewhere or worse, like if we conflict with someone or hit someone etc, maybe not get into legal trouble over it but still, will we lose our job or will we be able to apologize and carry on? And paradoxically enough, how do stubborn people, not to speak of those in power etc, do it and even get away with it, as unfortunate enough as it MAY be?

And do you agree with all those laws, rules, traditions etc without getting carried away, mad, angry and even justifiably insulting someone (well, I suppose in some cases, one can't be blamed for calling under certain circumstances someone an "asshole" or various other related terms, right?) but I for one prefer to keep what I call RESPECTABLE DISTANCE, thanks.
