As you will never be able to enjoy the powerful music from our french canadian culture.

Why the tabarnak are you acting like I'm not down with Offenbach?

I actually thought of you posting this. You and sslssg are the only ones I know can understand some French.

That being said, it’s time for you to evolve from Offenbach, even if they are legends. ;)

Quebec bluegrass project is where it’s at right now.

Especially after the death of Cowboy Fringuants’s singer.

Let's be real, this is the best French Canadian song of all time.

Excusez-moi?

Je pense que Vince parle français aussi

I studied French from ages 5-18 so I can speak it okay. It's been a long time since I've tried to write it though. My mother has had a French pen pal since she was 15, 60 years now, and her family has come to the US several times to visit. That has given me an opportunity to practice my French over the years. I would only understand you though if you spoke it to me verrry slowly. I can speak it better than I can understand it.

reply

Then I doubt you'd understand much words from that band!

reply

I can speak it better than I can understand it.

I'm exactly the opposite. Pretty decent comprehension (About a quarter of all media I consume is French-language, mostly from... um... France). But very little confidence in speaking it because I haven't really done that since school. Well... and occasionally in France. But, y'know, it's a use it or lose it scenario in any case.

reply

I've never been good at comprehending it from a native speaker, even when I was actively studying French. When my mother's friend would speak, it sounded like she was talking so fast. I could always understand my French teachers, but they spoke more slowly. I guess if you and I were conversing in French I'd have to do all the talking and you'd have to do all the listening. 😂

reply

Yes. You talk in French, I'll respond in English. Or I'll just say 'D'accord' and 'Je comprends' every once in a while. We'll both feel good about ourselves.

reply

D'accord.

reply

Je parle un peu français. Mais j'ai un accent ridicule. Comme un Québécois ;)

reply

Cool!! Aimes-tu la musique que j'ai partagée?

reply

I only listened to the first one so far.

I like the music. It's too fast-spoken and the accent too difficult for my ears to pick up most of what's being said. But it's nice and lively.

Save your pity Frenchie.

We got this guy and who needs more:
