Damn, that’s a tough one. I don’t know. I like the love story in Braveheart more and find a lot in it that I enjoy compared to Gladiator, but the parts I do like in Gladiator, especially the ending, I love even more. I really don’t think I can choose between them. The best I can say is that I like them both equally. But if I was forced to pick, I’d go with Gladiator, simply because I find myself rewatching it more than Braveheart.

Braveheart is the better movie.

The great Roger Ebert, may he rest in peace, had high praise for the sword fighting climax in Rob Roy and overall praised the film with a 3.5/4 rating.

It was a terrific movie with a fine cast and story.

I rewatched both relatively recently in over 20 years and I enjoyed Braveheart a lot more.

Gladiator. And that's coming from someone who doesn't care for "sword & sandal" type movies.
