Black Bear News!

We live out on a high oak and granite ridge. It’s quite lovely and the sunsets are like a Bob Ross painting!

But recently an extremely large black bear has been knocking over my trash cans, wandering through my neighbor’s yards, really making itself at home!

I told my wife I was going to put a pair of 12 Guages out there in the garage and shed. A Remington and
A Mossberg pump shottie plus a few boxes of shells and she said ‘The hell you are!’

Now I’m stuck with two spears, a sledgehammer and a machete!

Am I crazy?

The AI answer (like how I reference other threads?) includes:

Use a deterrent: Use electric fencing, unwelcome mats, or scent deterrents like ammonia.

Make loud noises: If a bear approaches, scare it away with loud noises like clapping, banging on pots and pans, or blowing an air horn.

I vote air horn. Imagine the fun you could have with that.
