I never heard this saying before

"Falling in the butter". which means becoming wealthy. Naturally I have heard " bread and butter all my life.

reply

I've never heard that either although there's something about it that makes me hungry.

reply

😅

reply

It might be one of those sayings the elders use to say decades ago, like" bees knees "or "cat's pajamas".

reply

Now I do know those! 😊 I've also heard of someone being the "cat's meow". That means they're pretty special.

reply

I have heard teens today say " cat's meow", and" bee's knees". As they say what's old is new again !

reply

I would kill to fall in the butter. Also, it would be very funny if you’re making this up in the hopes of starting it as a saying

reply

Haha😄

reply

I have never heard that either.

Don't think I've encountered this expression before either. But it's good. I like it. I'm going to use it next opportunity.

reply

Same here, I love learning new words as well.

reply

In Star Trek TNG some ship captain buttered Picard's and Riker's bread. I don't know what that means.

reply

I think it means to get on a person's good side when you want them to do something for you.

reply

who or where your bread is buttered means who has the power

It might be old but it’s a new saying to me. I like it.
