I rewatched Beetlejuice (1988) today. What about you?

That's a good one. What did your daughter think of it?

reply

She liked it.

Falling Down about a week ago.

Great film.

reply

It is indeed.

reply

Seconded👍

I sort of had sympathy for D-Fens tbh.

reply

The river wild a few days ago. Not seen it for years. Good film still.

reply

I have that on dvd but don’t remember if I ever watched it.

reply

I enjoyed it. It's bit 90s (obviously) in some parts but still a compelling story. The scenery is stunning, I wish there were places like that where I live 🥲

Evil - 2003 Scandinavian

About a troubled kid who gets sent to a posh boarding school with nasty rich poofs that haze the underclassmen. Kinda hokey, but I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories.

You need to come back on my weekly thread Rockman!

reply

I know it's been awhile but I replied to your weekly thread for this week

Vacation with Chevy Chase but that was in August.

reply

That’s a fun one.

The last film I rewatched was also Beetlejuice. How strange that we would both think to rewatch it within a couple of days of each other. I wonder what could possibly have prompted such a startling coincidence...

The one before that was Peeping Tom (1960), so look out for Peeping Tom, Peeping Tom in cinemas soon.

reply

Fargo.
Man, I LOVE that movie so much!!

The entire cast is amazing but Frances McDormand totally steals the show. She’s wonderful in this.

reply

Oh you betcha, yah.

reply

Oh darn, I’ll make you some eggs Margie.

reply

Fargo is excellent.

reply

I loved Margie’s husband too, Norm Gunderson. In a typical thriller the 8 month pregnant wife would be holed up on the couch eating ice cream and the big bear of a husband would be cruising around in ‘the prowler’ car solving gruesome murders.

But Norm was always in PJ’s and house slippers painting Geese while she went out into danger.

Such good writing.

reply

Agreed. Great screenplay and excellent performances. I think we should watch it for movieclub one of these days.

reply

I’ll totally rewatch it again anytime for the 7th or 8th time.

The William H. Macy performance is perfect as well!

10/10 movie.

reply

You're darn tootin'
