I'm staring at a wall

It's thundering like crazy here and the power keeps flickering. Too scared to turn my Playstation on in fear it will get fried. Also turned off the AC. Tired of replacing the capacitor. So I'm just going to twiddle my thumbs.

I'm half expecting a tree to hit the house. Good news is it should be over in like 2 more hours.

WE HAD A TREE HIT THE HOUSE ONCE...A BRANCH PUNCTURED THE ROOF AND STUCK THROUGH INTO MY GRANDMOTHER'S BEDROOM.

reply

Ouch. I had a tree hit the house before as well. It was the day before I was having a new roof installed. Me and the wife were sitting on the couch and it sounded like a bomb went off outside. She said what the hell was that? I went outside and saw the tree leaning against the house. Thankfully both neighbors came to the rescue with their chainsaws and we got it cut up pretty quick. Next day the roof got put on the house.

reply

GOOD NEIGHBOURS YOU GOT...I HAD TO DEAL WITH OUR DOWNED TREE WITH A HAND SAW.

reply

Youch. Let's just say I own a chainsaw now. It has been instrumental in taking 4 trees down so far. I have like 30 trees on my property, so it's a must.

WE GOT ONE LATER ON...DON'T HAVE IT ANYMORE...WE DON'T HAVE ANY TREES ANYMORE.

reply

That's good. Trees are bad news. I didn't know that when I bought the house. But I regret nothing. I love the house, even though it has its issues.

MY GRANDFATHER PLANTED DOZENS OF COTTONWOOD TREES...WHEN THEY HIS 25/30 YEARS OLD THEY ALL TURNED TO BRITTLE SHIT AND STARTING COMING DOWN...IT WAS QUITE THE ISSUE.

reply

I have learned what a dead tree looks like now and get them taken down ASAP.

Book + Candle = fun times.

I have power. I'm watching reruns of cops, and the rain and thunder has slowed down now. If I did lose power I would just go to bed.

reply

But do you have The Power?

There were some nasty storms here this afternoon. Plenty of lightning and thunder along with high winds. Fortunately, the storm had lost some of its punch by the time it got to my area. It has now moved into the neighboring state and it still looks nasty.

Minnesota eh? I'm in Virginia

reply

Well pull out unless you want to be a father.

reply

I'm already a father. I woke up to my wife riding me at 3am saying she wants to be a mom. I said shrug, okay.

reply

Yes, Minnesota. Central Minnesota.

Your storms look as nasty as ours.

reply

We don't get them too often but when we do, it's pretty bad.

reply

Sorry you had problems.
A generator can be a big help in such situations but the big ones are not cheap.
