What's the Ultimate Reality TV show?

I just stumbled across Fear Factor Season 1 (2001) free on Prime. This show is why reality tv took off. No one knew what was going on, no scripted responses. Amazing.

You can try a show called Alone.

People dumped in Alaska and apparently on their own with cameras.

The best season was in Alaska, but they drop contestants all over the world.

Alone

Definitely alone. Those folks were challenged, and I think it was mainly legit. Season 6, in upper Canada was the one I most remember, with the bad-ass dude that killed the moose. The cream rose to the top, but those ladies were ultra-tough, even though they all damn near killed themselves trying.

Hell's Kitchen. Everything else is wrong answer.

Signed, million man.

The Real World on MTV was the first reality (unscripted drama) show I remember really being big, but it was a long time ago.

reply

None. None of them are reality. I think Alone is really the only one that isn't really produced, but still not totally not produced. I think the British version is more real than the American.

I would also say that out of the "Insert country name" worst driver, Canada did have the best one. It ran the longest and actually tried to teach the drivers skills.

Oh that's easy; the one we're living in right now :)

Frankly, the last 8 seasons have really sucked and the show has gone downhill. It was only in recent episodes that things started looking interesting again, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I vaguely remember "An American Family" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_American_Family

Cops is probably the first reality show I remember watching.

Pawn Stars is my fave, but it is highly scripted so I would not call it "ultimate."

I like the Gordon Ramsey stuff.

Sasuke (Japanese Ninja Warrior) was a lot of fun but I don't think they offer dubbed in English versions anymore.

The Ultimate is where someone dies.

I always enjoyed The OSBORNES back in the day
