Have you visited your former home and the new residents let you look around?

It's something I've always wanted to do but I've been afraid to ask. If someone came to my door asking to come inside because it was their former home, I'd probably say no as I'd assume it was an easy breaking and entering attempt. I would probably let them in if I knew for a fact that they were the previous homeowners. But I'm dying to know what the new homeowners did on the inside of my old house and how much of it is still intact.

I never needed to. The houses I used to live in have been put on the market and the sales photos took care of the curiosity.

I wish they did they with my old house. But it would still be like walking into another dimension if I was able to actually stand inside it.

When I bought my first house, the owner was home when we did the viewing so I did see him. We did some major renovations to the house as well as an addition. He dropped by one day to ask if he could see what we did. Because I had seen him before and knew for a fact that he was the previous owner, we allowed him in, but I can't see myself doing it under another circumstance.

I know the previous homeowners of my house now and I'd probably let them in. But if it was the homeowners before them, I wouldn't trust them at all. But I wouldn't blame the homeowners of my old house for not letting me in considering they don't know what I look like.

I remember my previous homes with greater accuracy than the state they exist in now, so it wouldn't matter. I remember everything and everyone, going back to about 3 years old, and I'm 38 now.
