This Movie Club will allow two things to happen:
 -people will be able to watch the same movie at the same time and interact here
-people will be able to have common movies to watch over the weekend and share reviews on my other weekly thread.   

Event #1 - Friday night, August 16th 9PM Eastern time (if you want to watch live) and event closes Sunday at 9PM (if you haven’t been able to watch live and want to share reviews in the weekly thread.)

I fell behind you guys but at this point, I don’t understand how a smart girl like her still accept to go where they tell her to go and do what they tell her to do and drink what they tell her to drink etc. Their friends are disappearing one by one, Bunch of creepy stuff is going on, etc.

She even lets her boyfriend go into another girl’s house like it was all cool.

To me it just doesn’t sit right with her character.

She's in a vulnerable place in life, which is the type of person cults prey on.

Also, her friends are anthropologists; I have several friends who are anthropologists and they really do make stupid excuses for bizarre behavior like "that's just their culture" and look the other way when no reasonable person would.

I think it's a combination of those two things, but mostly the vulnerable one.
