Moviechat has an old school system- that's good

The ignore feature works. There are some losers who flame and insult celebrities, good films, etc. You click "ignore" and they are gone. Out of sight and out of mind.

Unlike other forums. ProBoards for example. Their interface is more modern but the ignore function is a piece of shit.

You can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

It will take me some time before I'll be able to remove that image from my mind. lol

You can thank the great Chris Farley for that imagery 😂

🤣

Is that from 'Tommy Boy'?

reply

Sure was. One of the funniest comedies ever made.

Yes, on some forums you can see ignored posters in replies. ProBoards is an example.

I love this site, been here for probably seven years. Best movie/TV/music chatters on the net👍

NO ‘ignore’ for me, NEVER (except by accident a few times, this site is easy to screw up with on a phone lol)

The three posters I have accidentally ignored were three of my favorite regs, total goof-up on my part!

reply

I don't have anyone on ignore, either.

I have some posters on ignore nyctc7.

I ignore posters who flame and insult celebrities and good films just to be an insult troll. There are also posters that go to a celebrity's board immediately after he/she died. They dredge up scandals, bad publicity from the past and post vile insults. They do this before the body is cold.

Why have to read such filth?

Click "ignore" and they are gone forever. You don't see them at all on this old school board! That is good.

I never look at my ignore list, I never reconsider. Ignored posters no longer exist when I post on this board.

I have 21 on ignore and don't regret it for one second. Many might think that's excessive, but you can definitely tell the Trolls who want to debate healthy and then the posters who just love to go round and round for no other reason then to do so and get a rise out of it

I really tried for a long time to not put anyone on ignore, but now I have but one very specific litmus test: any poster who posts a ton about politics, or of course actual spam, and nothing but in a movie forum, I actually give them the benefit of the doubt and check out their history and if they have just *one post* about movies in the last year or so, I let them skate. I think that's pretty fair.

So now I have a small handful, and it's staved off carpal tunnel syndrome from scrolling too much to find posts about movies...
