🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland - Here we come! (Update 7) Flying home 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We have a 50th birthday to attend next Saturday in Glasgow, so we thought we’d spend a week up there, hire a car and look around.

We’re staying at The Moness Resort, which is 2 hours north of Glasgow: -

UPDATE 1 - We went to the local whiskey distillery 🥃: -

It was next to JK Rowlings’ estate and was very interesting.

UPDATE 2 - We drove through the beautiful scenic countryside to Glencoe (where Skyfall was filmed) and Fort William: -

Update 3 - Loch Ness; we didn’t see the beastie ☹️

Update 4 - Balloch, hope it’s nicer than it sounds, lol: -

Update 5 - Our hotel in Glasgow: -

Update 6 - Retail therapy for the girls. I’m just about to eat haggis dim sum in a Scottish Chinese restaurant, lol.

Update 7 - I never got round to eating a deep fried Mars Bar ☹️

I’ll keep you updated on our little adventure 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I was, 23 years ago, for three weeks there. Edinburgh -Sterling, Inverness, John O'Grot (?), Kirkwall, Orban, Ullapool, Glasgow and a couple more that I do not remember now. Nice trip.
Have fun.

I've been watching the British Open the past 4 days (It was at Troon this year...very good Open this year...today was the first day that it wasn't pouring rain).

I've never been to Scotland, but have known several people who did and they all raved about it. The scenery in Glencoe looks spectacular.

One of my favorite guitar pieces is from a Celtic guitarist named Jim Ronayne called "Storm Over Glencoe:"

I should have played that in the car whilst driving through the Scottish Highlands.
