Marriage is a modern scam, for man at least. Makes much more sense just to have a baby momma these days if you want to spread your genes. Child support is cheaper and after she gets old and ugly you can move onto your second or third baby momma without losing half your shit

I think he has a point if you look at it purely from a Machiavellian standpoint. But it's a sad way to look at life and relationships.

I agree. That was my point though. He is approaching his relationships from a completely self centered point of view. It's all transactional. It is gross.
