🎥MovieChat MovieClub Event: Friday/Saturday Features #48🍿

I’m late but I got a reason: I was trying to finish Anotherday’s podcast with Miss K!! Lol
Also, to welcome my real life friend RedWolf, he picked the movie for Saturday’s late night.

Enjoy!

This Movie Party will allow two things to happen:

-people will be able to watch the same movie at the same time and interact here
-people will be able to have common movies to watch over the weekend and share reviews on my other weekly thread.

Event #1 - Friday night, May 3rd 9PM Eastern time (if you want to watch live) and event closes Sunday at 9PM (if you haven’t been able to watch live and want to share reviews in the weekly thread.)

No Adlibbing *BANG*

That was perfect.

reply

T’was good.

reply

We should watch a Herschell Gordon Lewis movie.

Maybe Wizard of Gore, or Two Thousand Maniacs.

reply

I HAVE A DVD BOXSET I HAVE YET TO WATCH STARING AT ME.

reply

They aren't good movies, but I do enjoy those as well as The Gruesome Twosome.

reply

THOSE ARE ALL IN THE BOXSET...I HAVE NEVER SEEN GORDON LEWIS FILMS BEFORE...I MISSED THEM ENTIRELY AT THE VIDEO STORE.

reply

The are all pretty awful, and amazing at the same time.

reply

The film, whose title (also the name of Dorff's character) alludes to director Cecil B. DeMille, is loosely based on the 1974 kidnapping of Patricia Hearst, who has a cameo role.

reply

Ahhh ok I can see that.

reply

Roger Ebert gave the film one and a half stars out of four, remarking that it was like "a home movie [with] a bunch of kids goofing off"

reply

It does feel like that.

reply

I tend to agree. But that's the charm of Jon Waters.

reply

They made that poor old lady puke!

reply

That Misfits jacket Cherish is wearing is cool!

reply

I’m 41 minutes in.

In order to be quirky and original you don’t have to scream at me: “I’m quirky and original!!”, you just have to be. This movie is a little bit like the film within the film: I feel like they’re trying too hard. Are they? Are you guys buying this? I’m not totally sold on the whole vibe here. I’m interested though and I hope for the best for what’s the come next. Maybe those characters will come to flesh at some point. It’s strange… I l really like the actors but don’t like their characters much. For now…

reply

Having known people like this IRL, the characterizations are over the top but somehow on point.

That said, this film is OK.

reply

UGH....YEAH DRAMA PEOPLE ARE TERRIBLE....EXCPT KATE...SHE IS AWESOME....THE LONE EXCEPTION.🙂

reply

i pretty much agree to what ur saying.....very interesting

reply
