I used to listen to a lot of movie reviews but it seems like everyone is going for the movie news podcast rather than reviews. Disney did this, the earnings of that, marvel flops it again, etc...

It gets old.

You could listen to politics, but that's usually balderdash with commercials for VPN's and buying a little land in Scotland scams.

Documentaries were plentiful... but now the landscape is full of hacks who'd rather give their perspective rather than outline the history.

Then there are shorts. The addictive and stupid fast cut malarkey used to trap youth in an endless cycle of random shit which they'll rarely use to better their lives.

After that, your stuck with the algorithm resurrecting things you've already watched.

It's really more of a habit than fun.

Speaking of RLM, I'm still sour over The Dark Backward getting taken off Tubi. Methinks the rights holders saw the uptick in traffic since the Re:View video and decided to renegotiate.

I enjoy RLM. But I miss the plinket reviews

AVGN is not nearly as enjoyable as he was. The current management isn't great.

I can't get into Hack the movies. That's following the podcast format.

The rest I've seen, but it's odd. It's like the life was sucked out of most of them.

Phelous isn't my favorite but I enjoyed his Girlfriend's earlier work.

I'm usually not listening to it anymore. I'll see if there's anything that's good background noise. But I most shut it off after a few minutes.

I still love watching old Chris Farley SNL bits and Norm MacDonald routines, they are two of the funniest guys in my lifetime.

I like the MMA highlights and some of the gun shows.

YouTube is still pretty good.

I used to watch YouTube more than anything else from 2006 to around 2018. Over the past few years, I've noticed that I've been watching it less and less. Now, I'm at the point where I only watch RLM once or twice a month, and that's about it.

YouTube just isn't the same anymore, or maybe my tastes have changed. But I think it's the former.

More time for Duolingo lol.

I still love it, and the algorithm thing doesn’t bother me because 99% of the time I’m searching for the content rather than looking at the suggestions in my feed. There’s some awesome short film channels that I visit regularly, found some absolute gems there.

I appreciate your frustrations with the newer formats (I avoid those TikToky short things) but for me there’s endless content to keep me entertained.

I'm a picky person, but YouTube is all I can tolerate.. There are these filters at the top, such as "NEW TO ME" to avoid repeats. Or during a video you like, you can click on the the circles to the right to change the recommendations on the right side of the page. I hate the shorts, and hit the "X" instantly. There is a lot of bullshit, when you have someone just narrate over video, but besides specific searches, you can hopefully find some good channels.
