Revolver or Rubber Soul?
A debate I've had with myself for many years--Which of these two revolutionary Beatles albums is the best?

shareRevolver is my second favorite Beatles album behind Abbey Road. Rubber Soul was kind of a transition album, as they were just starting to get more experimental.

Kinda. Maybe. Not nearly as much as Revolv.
On Revolver we get tape played and recorded backwards with guitar, more sitar and not as many love songs because of John.
And then of course there is the album cover art which combines drawing with photos to make a collage.
As Zarkoff points out, despite being released in succession these are different albums, with Rubber Soul showing the Beatles starting to come out of the Mop Top phase, and Revolver firmly out of it. They are both great albums. In terms of favorites, I would slightly pick Rubber Soul over Revolver.

shareSome interesting responses. I've always thought Revolver is probably the more important album, but I think I prefer Rubber Soul more as I get older and more mellow.
shareRubber Soul, but I mean, both are classics
