-Marzipan consumers on earth. Not because I eat a lot of it, it's just not a thing in most countries, and many people don't eat it in the countries where it is a thing
- flying hours. Not because I'm so well-traveled, but because my parents lived a 24-hour drive apart since I was 6 years old.
- Brown cheese consumers on earth. Same explanation as Marzipan.
- Number of cousins. I'm actually not sure about the exact number, but it's around 40.
- Numbers of languages understood (4), which is normal in my country. But extremely rare in most countries.
This came up in another thread a few days ago, but patches of my hair turned gray when I was still a teenager due to "poliosis circumscripta," a rare condition that affects less than 0.5% of Caucasians. It causes sections of your hair to lose color and it looks very different from normal graying.
Numbers of languages understood (4)
I speak and understand English 🇺🇸 and Spanish 🇪🇸.
I can also understand and carry out basic communication in Italian 🇮🇹 and Portuguese 🇵🇹, although I don't speak either of them fluently.
But if that counts, then I guess I'm in that one, too.
Other than that, I’m pretty ordinary and boring, and damn proud of it. reply share
I TOOK THREE YEARS OF SPANISH...I CAN SPEAK ONE SENTENCE AND MAYBE UNDERSTAND AND/OR SAY A FEW WORDS....I WAS A FUCKUP YEAR ONE AND FAILED...THE OTHER TWO YEARS I GOT A'S...BUT THAT WAS BECAUSE ANNETTE SAT NEXT TO ME BOTH YEARS AND HELPED ME A LOT....ANNETTE IS PART OF THE REASON I DON;T KNOW MORE SPANISH THOUGH...SHE MADE SURE I GOT A'S BUT I WAS ONLY PAYING ATTENTION TO HER...NOT SPANISH...SO I AM A ONE LANGUAGE DUDE.
OH..THE SENTENCE I CAN SAY IS...
YO TENGO EL GATO EN LOS PANTELONES....EL GATO ES MUY CALIENTE.
Thanks, I didn’t want to put it as a direct answer to the OP or include any other 1% stuff because it’ll just sound like I’m showing off and people seem to get pissed off at the slightest thing ☹️
I'd like to think that I'm in the Top 1% of guitar players, but:
1) There's really no way to measure that.
2) Some of these young kids can really play.
Again, no way to truly measure this, but...when it comes to golf, I can choke with the best of them (drive, iron shot, chip, putt...doesn't matter, I can choke 'em all!). And I can slice a golf ball off the planet with anyone (but I'd rather slice than hit that duck-hook I hit for a good chunk of last year...yuck!).
Other than that...about the only other thing I can think of is that I've worked at the same place since I graduated from college (almost 33 years ago). It used to be fairly common to work at the same place for one's career, but not so much anymore.
Thats true. I'm probably barely inside of it. But my purchasing power is not in the global 1% without moving I'm pretty confident, although I'm definitely in the top 5%.
Someone with my income in Pakistan would have 4 times my purchasing power, and easily also be within the global 1% in PP.
