🎥MovieChat MovieClub Event: Friday/Saturday Features #36 🍿 (Saturday Order Edited!)

This week was Ali’s birthday so as a gift I took hers and her father’s picks for Saturday. Plus I learned that Big K and I share birthdays!

This Movie Party will allow two things to happen:

-people will be able to watch the same movie at the same time and interact here
-people will be able to have common movies to watch over the weekend and share reviews on my other weekly thread.

Event #1 - Friday night, Feb. 9nd. 9PM Eastern time (if you want to watch live) and event closes Sunday at 9PM (if you haven’t been able to watch live and want to share reviews.)

The first feature is: Brain damage (1988)
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0094793/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_brain%2520damage

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0083739/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_5_tt_8_nm_0_q_class%2520of%252084

Event #2 - Saturday evening

First feature: The ABCs of death (2012)
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1935896/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_abcs

For the night owls: Nemesis (1992)

I can't sleep now and started watching Cocaine Bear on Prime 🐻

reply

Aww man. Ray Liotta RIP

reply

how far in are you?

reply

Boy, that Monster Grizzly movie was quite a doozy!
Who picked that!?! Totally ridiculous, whoever picked that movie should be blocked and reported.
I didn't even see a bear in the whole film. Maybe they couldn't afford to rent a killer bear because they spent so much of the budget on wardrobe and makeup?

reply

KBAG (Killer Bear Actors Guild) was on strike during the production of this film, unfortunately.

reply

Ahaa! No killer bears were available for hire, they were exercising their rights to protest for better wages and safer working conditions...I was wondering why the movie lacked a killer bear, this all makes total sense now.

reply

And Splenda.

Signed, million man

reply

BTW I gouged my eyes out

ABC'S of death: for every good one, there are about 3 bad ones.

reply

Pretty much yeah:

A is for apocalypse: Solid start! 7/10
B is for Bigfoot:Sucked bad 3/10
C is for Cycle: Interesting concept, bad execution. 4/10
D is for Dogfight: Stupid concept, interesting execution. Especially with my loud speaker. 6/10
E is for Exterminate: Shit. 2/10
F is for Fart: Funny Shit. 4.5/10
G is for Gravity: Didn’t like it. 2/10
H is for Hydro-electric diffusion: Fun. 6/10
I is for Ingrown: Brutal. According to director Jorge Michel Grau, Mexico features such a high number of women being murdered that the term “femicide” was created for it. His short, was his attempt at recreating a senseless murder to draw attention to the ongoing atrocity. “The research was easy. It was enough to open any newspaper and read the news.” 6.5/10
J is for Jidai-Geki: Appropriate comic relief following the tough to watch letter I: 6.5/10
K is for Klutz: Meh. 4.5/10
L is for Libido: What’s not to like? 8/10
M is for miscarriage: FU Ti West!!! 1/10
N is for Nuptials: Cute. 4/10
O is for Orgasm: Not horror but definitely cool to watch. 6/10
P is for Pressure: Beautiful, heart breaking art. 7/10
Q is for Quack: Dumb shit. 4/10
R is for Removed: Weird but captivating. 7/10
S is for Speed: A nice change of gear. Fun. 6/10
T is for Toilet: Colourful. 6.5/10
U is for Unearthed: Interesting concept and well executed. 6/10
V is for Vagitus: Solid stuff. 6/10
W is for WTF!: They sure went all in with this one. Gotta appreciate. 6/10
X is for XXL: Sick. 6/10
Y is for young Buck: Groovy music! Except for that extremely gross bench scene, I like it. 6.5/10
Z is for Zetsumetsu: I wouldn’t want this to end any other way. 7/10

I'm sorry guys, I think I fell asleep somewhere around where there was a little girl running away from the bear. Had fun with you all!

reply

THERE WAS NO BEAR!....YOU LIAR....LMAO....LEAVE IT TO SHGUN TO CHOOSE A KILLER BEAR MOVIE THAT HAS NO BEAR WITHIN IT.🤣

reply

Unfuckingbelievable LOL!

There was NO gaddam bear in that killer bear movie!
I sure can pick 'em:)

Next week It's 'Killer Flamingo' set in The Bronx, it should be super cool.
Don't hold your breath to see some Flamingos.

reply

So, when Alex gets put back together, do they just give him a new 90's comic book wig? First it's 90's floppy hair. Then it's high and tight followed by Rambo 3 mullet.

reply

This should be paired with Nemesis

https://youtu.be/rsas770F_r8?si=F1P7ycFCx6dlKLCe

reply

LMAO...I AM AWARE OF THAT...BUT HAVE NEVER SEEN IT.

reply

I own it. It's terrible, awesome, funny, stange, poorly acted and outrageous.

Watch it.

reply

It’s not on tubi but I am on a quest to watch all movies released in 1995 so I have to add it to my list.

reply

I purchased it on Amazon. It doesn't look like it's there anymore.

reply

When you jump on a grenade, you don't jump groin on explosive. Use the abdominal cavity to expand resistance on the shrapnel.

Diving Goin first leaves too little to deflect the shrapnel. Ego loses against explosives every time.

reply

Nemesis had a few great action sequences, stop frame animation, and a mediocre concept. But, it didn't work like Cyborg didn't work. Such awesome visuals mulled by a convoluted story and odd acting.

reply

AUNT NANCY RECORDED CYBORG FOR ME...SO I WATCHED IT OVER AND OVER....IT WORKS FOR ME...I QUITE ENJOY CYBORG...NEMESIS WAS A RENTAL I LIKED THAT HAS NO NOSTALGIA ARMOR TO PROTECT IT....IT WAS A ROUGH WATCH.
