Merry Christmas! A couple of guitar videos from me

One of the things I have really enjoyed doing as a guitarist over the years is taking Christmas Carols/Christian Hymns and making instrumental guitar arrangements for them. Here are two Christmas Çarols that I'd like to share:

1) "What Child Is This?" ("Greensleeves"): https://vimeo.com/861056445?share=copy

2) "The First Noel": https://vimeo.com/894463042?share=copy

I hope the links work! I recorded the first one a little over two years ago and the second one last year. Merry Christmas to all of you!

They worked for me and really contributed to an already very peaceful, tranquil, and contented early morning. Merry Christmas to you, Golf! You're a great, positive poster here.

reply

Thank you so much, ClementinaSpur! I am so glad you still post here and reading your contributions here. Merry Christmas!

reply

Thank you! I forgot to say something in my reply to you. Your videos reminded me of something I haven't thought of in years. I was able to attend a performance by classical guitarist Christopher Parkening in the early 1990s. Your videos reminded me of hearing his music.

reply

Wow, that must have been wonderful! I'm a big admirer of his playing...if I remember correctly, he became world-famous, retired, became a Christian and came out of retirement, then retired again to teach guitar. He's definitely one of the greats in the classical guitar world. I believe he is still alive...I know he was having some health issues a few years back. Thank you so much for sharing that!

reply

Excellent! Very good 🎸

Thank you so much for your kind words and I am so appreciative of pinning my post. You did not have to do that, but thank you! 😃 Merry Christmas to you also!

reply

So, what does it take to get a post pinned around here?

reply

Maybe more talk about Krazy Glue?

😂

reply

There is no general rule for it.

Step 1. Don't be a dick.

Physician, heal thyself.

reply

Ha ha. So funny. I'm afraid I might be terminal.

Signed, million man

reply

That was neat!

Only constructive criticism: A few Christmas lights in the background would’ve been nice! 👍 😊

reply

Thank you...I used to have Christmas lights here, but don't anymore. That's a good point...I should have thought of that! Merry Christmas!

reply

Well done. Both links worked. I've never heard that first one before.

reply

Thank you! The first one is probably better known as "Greensleeves," which is a very old English folk song (It was thought at one time to have been written by Henry VIII, but I think that's been discredited). Jeff Beck (RIP) and James Taylor both did guitar versions of it.

Merry Christmas and hoping for better health for you in 2024!

reply

I hope you get better health, a new guitar and some new gold clubs.

reply

you need to watch more christmas movies. greensleeves is an old standard known as what child is this?
