Is there a name for this sales tactic?
step 1: find customers who are polite but gullible
step 2: bombard them with excessive information about the product
step 3: show them next product quickly, don't allow customers even one second to breathe
step 4: give them a headache, make them desperate to leave, but still want to be polite
step 5: offer a discount or bonus if they purchase in the next few minutes
Basically the salesman tricks the customer to buy their product, which the customer very likely doesn't really want, just to keep being polite and to shut the salesman up. From my experience, this happens a lot during winter holidays, and at small shopping mall kiosks where they sell those as-seen-on-TV-like products.
Has anybody else experienced this before?
