MC Email Notifications

Since joining this site, I've never received one email notification. If they're going to my spam folder, I've never seen them there, and I usually give at least a cursory glance to all my spam messages before I delete them. So what gives? It could be that you're only supposed to get email notifications for new messages, as opposed to new notifications (meaning the notifications when someone responds to your post). I've never received a message from anyone, so that could be how it works. If that's the case, then I petition that we get email notifications for post responses as well.

I used to get email notifications, including replies to posts, for the first few years of this sites existence, then one day they just stopped. I've never understood why, and have wondered about this myself. I have "email notifications: ON" under my profile.

OK just checked my email history; the last notification I ever received was Nov. 6th, 2019.

I checked my email history and I have to slightly apologize. I HAVE received notifications in the past, it's just been so long that I forgot, lol. Last notification was December 29, 2019.

Interesting. Seems possible that the notifications feature stopped working in late 2019.

I should also mention that I do not receive notifications for replies to posts, nor for DM's.

POOR EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS....THEY MUST HAVE GOT THE COVID.

Do you have email notifications currently turned on? Check your profile page (accessed via the icon to the left of the mail envelope in the upper right of the screen).

Yup, notifications are on.

If that's the same for you, Vince and everyone else not receiving notifications, I'd venture a guess that there might be an issue with the email server.

At the beginning, I had that feature turned on, but found that I got too many emails, so I turned it off. It's easy enough to see if you have responses via the little bell icon. I'm not surprised that it went away. I'm thinking it used up too much space somewhere in the back room of this site.
