Do you ever get the uncontrollable urge to physically break your misbehaving computer?

My computer woke up and chose violence by deciding to piss me off today. I didn't do shit to it, but it seemingly wanted to drop the gloves and go toe-to-toe with me by having trouble doing basic commands. I thought the two of us had an understanding, but this betrayal has crossed a line and will not stand. The utter disrespect it has given me today has warranted a top tier tussle with the two of us and I have an uncontrollable urge to bodyslam it and throw it out the window. Am I overreacting or should I drop that bitch like 11th grade math?

Side note: I fully expect someone to parody this.

I USED TO...IN FACT IN MY YOUTH I ACTUALLY SMASHED AN ALARMING NUMBER OF ELECTRONICS FOR MISBEHAVING...I AM IN FULL CONTROL OF MY EMOTIONS NOW THOUGH.

reply

I almost never get mad. I'm pretty chill during disagreements, even when I'm being name-called, but something about computers not working gives me so much rage. I'd rather my car not work properly because it's pretty much something that physically needs to be repaired, but computers just stop working for no reason.

reply

YEAH...THEY CAN BE FRUSTRATING...I HAVE TO WORK AT KEEPING COOL A LOT THESE DAYS...DAMN MOVIECHAT...IF IT WEREN'T FOR THIS PLACE I WOULD RARELY USE MY PC.

reply

My laptop is about 11 years old and I treat it well but I'm afraid if I gave it some stink eye it would explode on me. However, it does everything I need in a computer so I'm holding off buying a new one any time soon.

reply

YOU EVER GET CAUGHT WATCHING PORN ON IT AND SLAM IT SHUT ON YOUR WEINER BY MISTAKE?

reply

Once. Never did it again! 🤣

reply

LMAO...I HAVE NEVER HAD A LAPTOP...I USE AN OLD FASHIONED TOWER AND A 32 INCH TV AS A MONITOR...I TRY NOT TO GET CAUGHT WATCHING PORN...I CAN'T TAKE ANY MORE CONCUSSIONS.

reply

My computer is less than 2 years old and I treated it like a king. I always do system updates, delete unnecessary files, do constant virus checks, and my computer still betrayed me.

reply

Maybe it's possessed? Hire a priest to exorcise it!

reply

A computer isn't going to act up for no reason. You have malware or a virus. The free virus scans aren't good for much. You can either throw it against the wall or bring it to a professional which will probably cost around a hundred bucks.

I had this problem before and managed to fix it myself, but this time there is something slightly different.

The issue: I have two 2TB hard drives and one that's 1TB. The computer acknowledges the two 2TB HD's are plugged in, but I can't access it when I click it. The device manager picks them both up, but I can't disable, or uninstall. The computer says both hard drives are healthy and the drivers are up to date. I have 3 USB slots and they don't work on any of them. Strangely, the 1TB hard drives works perfectly. The difference between my issue now compared to before is that when I click on the hard drive to access it, the computer goes absolutely haywire.

Every once in a while one has to teach inanimate objects a lesson.

reply

The sad thing is that if I give it too much of an ass kicking, it'll be entirely broken and buying a new one would cost more than just repairing the facial damage I gave it.

reply

Actually this classic needed to come in this thread.
Strange that nobody posted it till now.

On that occasion want to tell you that I love your "Dinosauriergeister" ♥ in the other thread.

reply

100%, absolutely. I have in fact used violence against my computers in the past.

I knew what scene it was before I even clicked.

reply

I LOVE THAT SHIT!

reply

I think you should smash that computer up but only if you have a backup so you can post on Movie Chat.

You might find it quite cathartic

reply

HE SHOULD SMASH IT EITHER WAY...MOVIECHAT COULD USE A BREAK FROM THAT "GUY".

reply

No, laptops and smart phones are too expensive to smash apart out of frustration, I have some people I can talk to that can maybe lead me out of various tech glitches.

reply

I think someone may have accessed my computer and went to YouTube to play some KISS music. That's the only explanation why I'm having issues. They damn near tortured my computer.

reply

KISS is awesome, stop complaining and enjoy KISS you nerd!

reply

Their CD's make excellent coasters.

reply

I just hurl obscenities at it.

reply

I prefer to kill my internet provider. 😈

reply

I did that too, but it doesn't get affected by hurt feelings. No really, I said a few "fuck offs" to it.

reply

I've told my daughter to tell all the teachers at school that I suffer from Tourette's Syndrome, lol.
