Forgotten Baby Syndrome

Nothing scares me more than Forgotten Baby Syndrome. This is on my mind every work day morning. Very sad how often it happens to normal people, i wouldn't be able to recover from it mentally.

Seems like there are endless stories online:

"Terry described that his client was in police custody, "suicidal and pulling her hair out in clumps in a shit smeared, padded iso cell in the Douglas County Jail, with screaming schizophrenics on either side."

I bet neither forgot their phone.

reply

100%. The phone always goes onto the floor in front of the baby.

Or their smokes.

My mom raised 9 kids. Sorry, I'm not buying this. We're either talking very low iq's here, or negligence tantamount to manslaughter. Selfish self-obsessed women.

reply

From what I've read it happens to all sorts of people, fathers (seems most common), all sorts of professionals, and even a professor.. ~40 times per year in USA - not very common but that is hundreds of children since i was born.

reply

My point is that there's no excuse. The mothers I know would never forget they had a baby in the back seat. There's just no excuse for these women. They belong in prison.

reply

As a parent, there is no such thing as forgetting about your baby. Your life revolves around that baby for at least the first few years. Everything else is on hold.

reply

Absolutely!
