NFL "excessive" celebtrations
What do you think of them?
I actually love them and think they're funny, as long as they don't physically harm anyone else. I think outlawing them just proves the NFL is the "No Fun League".

I don't have a problem with them.
It's all a show isn't it and isn't it supposed to be entertaining?
If the owners just want points, hire robots.
A classic PsyOps move is to simply drop the ball in the end zone and walk back to the bench like you've scored before and will soon score again, no sweat.
Drink some water, NO celebrations, be quiet and humble.
Celebrate when you are drinking from cups made of their skulls:)
My sentiments exactly.

Love'em!
😀
Do you mean "excessive" as in players doing silly stuff when scoring points, or fans burning police cars in a show of high spirits?
shareIt’s obvious that you don’t watch football. Excessive Celebration is the name of the rule.
https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-rulebook/
Prolonged or excessive celebrations or demonstrations by an individual player or multiple players.share
Using any object as a prop, or possessing any foreign or extraneous object(s) that are not part of the uniform on the field or the sideline during the game, other than the football after a scoring play or change of possession. If any foreign object(s) are deemed a safety hazard by the game officials, in addition to a yardage penalty, the player will be subject to ejection from the game, whether he uses the object or not.
Note: Violations of (a), (b), (c), (d), and (e) will be penalized if they occur anywhere in the stadium in which the officials have jurisdiction.
Removal of his helmet by a player in the field of play or the end zone during a celebration or demonstration, or during a confrontation with a game official or any other player.
Notes:
Two violations of (a), (b), or (c) (above) by the same player, which occur before or during the game, will result in disqualification in addition to the yardage penalty. Any violations at the game site on the day of the game, including postgame, may result in discipline by the Commissioner. Any violation of (e) above may result in disqualification and also will include discipline by the Commissioner. An official must see the entire action for a player to be disqualified.
Violations of (f) and (g) will be penalized if they occur anywhere on the field other than the bench area.
Penalty: (for (a) through (h)): Loss of 15 yards from the succeeding spot or whatever spot the Referee, after consulting with the crew, deems equitable. If the foul is by the defense, it is also an automatic first down.
The No fun league thing is outdated. The NFL has loosened up quite bit on celebrating. The spirit of the rule has always been to prevent the celebration from crossing the line into taunting, so I think it’s at a good place now. It allows celebrations, it allows the team to celebrate together, but prevents hiding sharpies in their socks, or cell phones in the goalposts, which are accidents waiting to happen.
Personally I don’t care for it though. Im all for emotionally celebrating, it’s a big part of sports, but a premeditated routine a literally the opposite of that.
I will say this though. Commenters like to bring up Barry Sanders. He scored 109 Touchdowns, and never even spiked the ball, he just handed it to the refs. But that wasn’t him being humble, that was his personality. He wouldn’t have danced if he was forced to.
Ok with me - I don't care either way.
shareI think they all look like idiots. Screaming and stomping after ever play too I find it to be classless, have some humility. That being said, I don't really care. Do I think it should be banned, heck no. Do I think you look like a jackass, absolutely.
I thought the NFL lifted the ban on them a while ago?
