Why aren't Europeans

Why aren't Europeans as passionate about baseball as the rest of the world.

The rest of the world???

reply

👍

reply

They turned real sour on it around the time when The Queen of England was nearly assassinated by Reggie Jackson.

reply

I think Japan is the only major country besides the U.S. where baseball is big.

reply

I like Japan's method of distributing beer during games and I think the US should adopt this wonderful system.

reply

Too much paranoia here about drunken fans.

reply

Why are there so many Latino players in MLB?

reply

Good point. It's big in Latin America as well.

reply

They likes it in the Caribbean islands, mon!

reply

Yeah, I forgot about all the West Indian drafts.

But do they play baseball in France?

reply

Well they did try to make a French baseball league, but both teams always forfeited in the first inning.

reply

Haha. Why do the French have such a bad image?

reply

lol I'm not even sure where the whole French surrender thing came about, but it is funny to stick it to those snooty folks

reply

Popular in South Korea

reply

Makes sense. They're heavily influenced by the Japanese.

reply

It's a kids game in Britain. We call it rounders. I don't think I've ever seen an adult play it here 🤔

reply

Rounder! Rounder! Rounder! Rounder!

reply

Rounders!

reply

That's what we used to chant as our team mates ran round the bases, "Rounder! Rounder! Rounder! Rounder!"

reply

Oh soz lol. It's been so long since I played it I don't even remember if that happened or not 🤭

reply

Probably nearly 50 years for me, lol.

reply

There is also Welsh Baseball

reply

Never heard of English or Welsh baseball associations. Weird. Definitely not a mainstream thing
where I live 🤷🏻‍♀️

reply

The only reason I ever heard of it is that a biography of Shirley Bassey I read says she played it as a kid where she grew up near Cardiff. The author explains in a footnote: *That’s Cardiff baseball. It’s a halfway house between rounders and the American game, played almost exclusively in the port towns of Cardiff, Newport and Liverpool. It’s the summer game of working-class Cardiff; there are thriving leagues both for men and ladies.

Formula 1...Nascar
Cricket...Baseball
Snooker...Pool

I'm not saying one of those columns is better

personally I find F1 fairly boring these days

reply

IndyCar is closer to Formula 1 as they involve open-wheel cars. But Nascar is the more popular.

reply

Australia has tennis and AFL, and those are a bit more interesting to us.
